Die erste Ausstellung des InterCultureLab entstand gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmenden des transkulturellen MIZ-Stammtisches und fand im Rahmen der Interkulturellen Wochen 2025 statt.

Ausgangspunkt war die Idee, kulturellen Ausdrucksformen Raum zu geben, ohne sie zu erklären, zu exotisieren oder an dominante ästhetische Maßstäbe anzupassen. Unter dem Leitmotiv Res ipsa loquitur („Die Sache spricht für sich selbst“) hinterfragte die Ausstellung gängige Vorstellungen von Interkulturalität und machte kulturelle Stimmen in ihrer eigenen Sprache und Ästhetik sichtbar.

Sie verstand sich als offener Raum, in dem kulturelle Begegnungen neue Perspektiven eröffneten und bestehende Narrative bewusst nicht als abgeschlossen, sondern als veränderbar gedacht wurden.

The first exhibition of the InterCultureLab was created in collaboration with participants of the transcultural MIZ regulars‘ table and took place as part of the Intercultural Weeks 2025.

The starting point was the idea of giving space to cultural forms of expression without explaining them, exoticizing them, or adapting them to dominant aesthetic standards. Under the motto Res ipsa loquitur (“The thing speaks for itself”), the exhibition questioned common notions of interculturality and made cultural voices visible in their own language and aesthetics.

It saw itself as an open space in which cultural encounters opened up new perspectives and existing narratives were deliberately conceived not as fixed, but as changeable.

Das Tandem-Programm des InterCultureLab verbindet zehn Teilnehmende aus den Sparten Literatur, Musik, Darstellende Kunst, Architektur/Design und Bildende Kunst mit erfahrenen Kulturschaffenden aus der Region.

Über einen Zeitraum von Januar bis Dezember 2026 werden die Tandems im Rahmen einer 1:1-Begleitung individuell unterstützt. Im Zentrum steht ein partnerschaftlicher Austausch, bei dem Wissen, berufliche Erfahrung und Netzwerke weitergegeben und gemeinsam künstlerische Vorhaben weiterentwickelt werden.

Die Arbeit findet überwiegend im Gemeinschaftsatelier des Künstlerhauses Andreasstadel statt, das den Teilnehmenden als gemeinsamer Arbeits- und Begegnungsraum zur Verfügung steht. Ergänzend dazu umfasst das Programm professionelle Workshops, eine kontinuierliche Unterstützung durch das ICL-Team sowie den Zugang zu einem erweiterten kulturellen Netzwerk.

Den Abschluss bildet eine Präsentation der entstandenen Konzepte oder Werke im Rahmen der Interkulturellen Wochen 2026.

The InterCultureLab’s Tandem Program connects ten participants from the fields of literature, music, performing arts, architecture/design, and visual arts with experienced cultural professionals from the region.

Over a period from January to December 2026, the tandems will receive individual support in the form of one-on-one mentoring. The focus is on a partnership-based exchange in which knowledge, professional experience, and networks are shared and artistic projects are developed together.

Most of the work will take place in the communal atelier of the Andreasstadel, which will be available to participants as a shared workspace and meeting place. In addition, the program includes professional workshops, ongoing support from the ICL team, and access to an expanded cultural network.

The program will conclude with a presentation of the resulting concepts or works as part of the Intercultural Weeks 2026.
